Ukraine's Independence Day in Frankfurt

On August 24, 2025, the heart of Frankfurt — Römerplatz — beat to the Ukrainian rhythm. Here, thanks to the initiative of the Ukrainian Coordination Center Frankfurt and the tireless work of volunteers, a bright and moving demonstration of unity and love for the Motherland took place.

The square was ablaze with yellow-and-blue flags and adorned with embroidered vyshyvanka. Ukrainian songs, dances, and prayers echoed far beyond the square, gathering not only Ukrainians but also representatives of various nationalities who came to share our freedom celebration.

The audience was entertained by the choir “Oranta” under the direction of Oleg Kiriei and Irina Kaplonova, the children's studio Studio of vocal and musical development of children. "Ukrainian Pearls" under the direction of Natalie Pokhylko, the dance group “Smereka” under the direction of Viktoria Masterovenko, the bandura trio “Malva”, the children's choreography studio “Lileya” under the direction of Kateryna Chuvailova, opera singer Olena Romaniv, singer Oleg Kiriei, singer Natalia Pokhylko. Their voices, music and dances turned this day into a real holiday of the soul.

Speeches were delivered by the Consul of Ukraine in Frankfurt am Main Taras Zholubak, the Head of the Ukrainian Coordination Center Viktoria von Rosen (Viktoria Radzievska), and the representative of the Ukrainian Society in Frankfurt am Main Roman Rokytsky.
A special spiritual moment was the World Prayer for Ukraine: the military chaplain, priest of the OCU of the German deanery, Father Petro Bokanov, read a prayer for our state, and the entire square with one heart raised a request for peace and victory.

After the concert, a solemn procession with Ukrainian flags and songs passed through the center of Frankfurt. The city echoed for a long time with voices praising the freedom and unity of our people. Thank you to Olena Zhmur, Iryna Parukh, Olga Begunova, Evelina Polumieva, Olga Guzhva, Anna Zorena and the "Plast" organization for holding the solemn procession!

We sincerely thank the volunteers of the Ukrainian Coordination Center Frankfurt Lala Davitidze, Yana Klyzhenko, Denis Grinberg, Iryna Manoilova, and Roman Muzyka for organizing and holding the festive celebration!
